The first problem required the candidate to answer ten multiple-choice questions that evaluated the individual's general knowledge of telemarketing concepts, including telephone etiquette and ability to respond professionally to clients on the telephone. This person scored 17 out of a possible 20 points.

Problem two examined the ability to use proper grammar and vocabulary in telemarketing situations. Twenty simple sentences were provided with one key word or phrase missing. From four options, the candidate had to choose the best word to complete the sentence. This individual scored 14 out of 20 points.

Problem three presented fifteen “true/false” statements. The goal was to evaluate telephone knowledge, basic computer usage, and the candidate’s ability to handle various situations with customers over the phone. This person scored 12 out of a possible 15 points.

In problem four, five narratives relevant to telemarketing situations were provided and the candidate was asked for the “main idea” or interpretation. The intent was to evaluate reading comprehension. This individual scored 12 out of a possible 15 points.

Problem five required the candidate to answer eight multiple-choice questions that evaluated the ability to handle objections, rejection, and set appointments. This candidate scored 13 out of a possible 16 points.

The sixth problem examined the candidate’s ability to sort information, compare tabular data, attention to detail, and basic mathematical skills. This person scored 17 out of a possible 19 points.

Recommendation

With an overall score of 81%, Ms. Cinders strongly demonstrates the skills necessary to succeed in a position as a telemarketer.
