Project Leadership Theory:  The first problem required the candidate to answer six questions on fundamental concepts of project leadership including project planning, objectives, costing, and handling charge requests.  Ms. Richards scored 16 out of a possible 16 points for this problem, which was superior.

Problem Solving: 
Success often depends on a Project Leader's ability to solve problems in a structured and controlled manner. Problem two presented a realistic business situation concerning the Credible Car Corp. and asked the individual to recommend an approach to resolving the company's dilemma. Ms. Richards displayed high average problem solving capabilities by scoring 12 out of 15 points.

Business Judgment:  Problem three presented six business situations with five alternative options to handle them in each case.  The goal was to evaluate the person’s general business judgment.  Ms. Richards scored 4 out of 12 points, which was far below average.

Supervisory Practices:
  Problem four examined the candidate’s understanding of accepted supervisory practices; an essential requirement for successful project leaders.  Issues of motivation, promotability, respect and time management, were all addressed.  This candidate displayed average supervisory abilities by scoring 11 out of a possible 15 points.

Planning:
  The last problem provided the candidate with all the information necessary to create a basic PERT network. Pertinent questions relevant to project completion time, critical path, and "slack" were asked in order to evaluate the individual's ability to utilize a project plan. In this particular problem, Ms. Richards scored 10 points out of a possible 17, which was below average.

Recommendation

With an overall score of 71%, we recommend this individual for the position of project leader.
